Hydrodynamic Analysis

We are skilled at performing hydrodynamic analyses to forecast how ships will behave in a dynamic marine environment. This knowledge includes ship resistance, propulsion, seakeeping, and maneuvering. Our in-house team of naval architects and hydrodynamics engineers are skilled in the most recent industry software, supporting clients with technical solutions to accomplish projects on time and within budget. Calculations for resistance and propulsion are typically needed for newbuild designs. For sea transportation, seakeeping calculations are performed to determine the critical response of the vessels for strength assessments and sea-fastening designs. When engaging in offshore activities, multiple vessels or platforms interact with one another. The dynamic pressures generated in tanks as a result of vessel motion are determined via slosh analysis. The magnitude of the environmental forces operating on the vessel as a result of the waves and transportation of green water is evaluated by a green sea analysis. Manoeuvring models are used to estimate normal manoeuvres and create wheelhouse posters, among other things.

Marine Technical Documentation

Assessment and evaluation services:

Assessment and evaluation services in marine engineering are comprehensive and systematic procedures conducted by highly qualified marine engineers, surveyors, and experts. These services are designed to assess the condition, performance, and adherence to industry regulations and standards of marine assets, including vessels, equipment, and infrastructure. The primary objective is to enhance safety, efficiency, and compliance within the maritime sector.

Technical documentation scopes:

Technical documentation scopes refer to the specific areas or subjects that technical documentation covers within a given project or context. These scopes provide a clear outline of what information, processes, or systems the technical documentation is intended to address..

vessel specific documentation:

Vessel-specific documentation refers to a specialized set of technical documents, records, and information that pertain to a specific marine vessel, such as a ship, boat, or offshore platform. These documents are crucial for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and compliance of the vessel with maritime regulations..

cargo securing manual:

A cargo securing manual is a critical document that provides guidelines, procedures, and instructions for safely and securely stowing and securing cargo on a vessel. This manual is essential to ensure that the cargo remains stable during transportation, preventing accidents, damage to goods, and potential risks to the vessel and crew.

Contract design review:

Contract design review is a critical phase in the project lifecycle or procurement process where professionals with expertise in various relevant fields thoroughly evaluate the design plans and contractual agreements associated with a project. The primary objective is to ensure that the design aligns with the project's goals, that it meets regulatory requirements, and that the contractual terms are fair and clear for all parties involved.

Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan :

The Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan (SEEMP) is a crucial tool in the maritime industry, designed to promote energy efficiency, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and enhance the environmental performance of vessels. This plan is developed in compliance with the International Maritime Organization's (IMO) regulations and guidelines, specifically the Energy Efficiency Existing Ship Index (EEXI) and the Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) under the International Maritime Organization's MARPOL Annex VI.

Ballast Water Management Plan:

A Ballast Water Management Plan (BWMP) is a critical component of responsible maritime operations, aimed at addressing the environmental challenges associated with the discharge of ballast water from ships. It outlines procedures, systems, and best practices for the safe and compliant management of ballast water to protect marine ecosystems and comply with international regulations, such as the International Maritime Organization's (IMO) Ballast Water Management Convention.

Ship-Specific Manual for Recovery of Persons :

A Ship-Specific Manual for Recovery of Persons from Water is a specialized document created to provide clear and structured guidelines for responding to emergencies involving individuals in the water. The primary objective is to ensure the swift, safe, and coordinated retrieval of persons in distress while minimizing risks to crew members and maintaining compliance with international and national maritime regulations

Loading Software

Sealand offers Specialized Ship Loading Software, a comprehensive and user-friendly system for load planning and loading calculations that offers a wide range of features and capacities for safe and effective ship operation. The loading software offers a large selection of modules for usage in the office and onboard. It is made to work in a graphical, interactive environment. The user always works on the actual ship plan, the displays are self-explanatory, follow a set pattern, and offer easy access to the data needed to complete a task. Both in the office and as a stand-alone system, it is appropriate for usage onboard. All significant Classification Societies have given the Ship Loading Software their type approval. Numerous modules are available directly from the loading software. Along with statutory requirements, a variety of ship operator requirements and safety considerations (such emergency response) are covered. Each ship type has specialized versions that can handle its unique characteristics.

Finite Element Analysis

In all engineering disciplines, finite element analysis is a useful tool for validation and optimization. To the client's satisfaction, FE experience including global models as well as microengineering features of connecting details has been carried out. Numerous engineering issues involving offshore structures, such as new designs, conversions, upgrades, life extensions, decommissioning, etc., call for the use of FE analysis. In these projects, several global or local finite element models are created to precisely replicate the linear and nonlinear structural reactions under challenging loading situations. Our skilled team of engineers uses tools such as FEMAP, SACS, Moses, and others for finite element applications.
